World Backup Day is on March 31st!
Dont be an April Fool – Backup your files! Check your restores! And take the pledge today!
Why should I backup?
We increasingly trust technology to look after all the important memories in our lives. Your precious baby videos, financial documents, love letters, business emails and wedding photos. Think about what you’d lose if these were erased forever.
What is backing up? Basically, it’s making copies of all the important information that you have to ensure that it won’t ever be lost or damaged. It’s not as hard as it sounds – in fact, it’s really simple!
You might think your computer, phone or tablet is pretty reliable, but in reality, it’s not. Everything (yes, everything) fails, and once it does, all the important information you’ve stored on that device can be destroyed. In fact, it’s not a question of if a piece of technology will fail – it’s when.
More than 60 million computers will fail worldwide in 2013. Only 1 in 4 people back up their information regularly – that’s roughly 45 million times this year where files will be lost forever. Even worse – 113 cell phones are lost or stolen every minute in the United States alone. That’s hundreds of photos, conversations, calendars and more, gone in an instant.
It’s important to be ready. That’s why World Backup Day was created – to show you how to prepare for the inevitable. They will help you to devise a plan to store your precious memories and information in a safe location. Because there’s nothing worse than losing something important to you.
Goodwins of Lincolnshire have enhanced their current Move Administer system with the addition of our Archive Administer module to assist with their Doculink Archive Storage and Document Management company.
Archive Administer is to replace their existing system (Archiver Professional) and to allow complete records management under one central system. Their existing data was converted into Archive Administer remotely with no issues whatsoever.
The shortlist for the next stage of the Domestic Mover of the Year 2013 has been announced and I’m pleased to announce that yet again 3 are Move Administer users!
The shortlist consists of:
Kilmarnock Removals Ltd
M J Christophers & Son
Maidman’s Removals & Storage
Matt Purdie & Sons Ltd
Richard Healey Removals Ltd
White & Co. plc, Telford
These shortlisted members will be subject to an independant “mystery shopper” and have a site and code inspection. By adding the scores gained to the first round, 3 finalists will be identified. The finalists will then have independant customer interviews conducted and the scores from the interviews will then be added to the overall score to date and the competition winner will be revealed.
The finalists will be announced at the BAR 2013 Annual Conference during the business sessions on Friday May 17th, and the winner announced at the Gala Dinner on Saturday May 18th.
Our congratulations go to all, especially Matt Purdie & Sons who have been shortlisted every year since the DMotY begain 5 years ago, and being crowned winners in 2010. Maidman’s Removals & Storage were also crowned worthy winners in 2011. Fingers crossed a Move Administer user can win for the 4 time in 5 years!
