Our Apple iPad Arrives!

Apple iPadGreat news, our Apple iPad has arrived!

With Apple recently announcing that the European iPad had been delayed by up to a month, we decided to purchase one from eBay. Ideally we would have liked a 64Gig version, but in the end settled for a 32Gig version complete with Apple’s iPad Keyboard Dock and Apple’s iPad Case.

Our initial thoughts are, IT’S WICKED! Now all we need is a bit more time to purchase and install many of the iPad apps available today, as all iPhone apps are already compatible!

Domestic Mover Of The Year 2010 Finalists

DMotY 20102010 is the second year of the BAR’s Domestic Mover of the Year (DMotY) award, with 2009 being awarded to Luxfords of Weybridge.

The winner will be announced on the Saturday evening dinner at the forthcoming BAR Annual Conference 2010 held in Bristol.

A 3 user system, complete with Shipping Administer Lite will be installed in the coming weeks.

The Movers & Storers Show 2010

Our Exhibition StandAnother year and another Movers & Storers Show. This year’s show was held at Telford’s International Centre on a wet and snowy Wednesday in February.

The evening before consisted of setting up the numerous exhibition stands and ensuring that the trucks on show were parked correctly and polished to the highest of standards. A VIP Show Preview Party took place that evening allowing exhibitors and guests to eat, drink and play on a giant scalextric. I must confess that copious amounts of alcohol was consumed that evening, both at the VIP Show Preview Party and in the Hotel Bar afterwards!

Exhibition day itself started a little slow, but by mid morning attendees were in full flow, making there way around the ample exhibitors on hand, as well as taking onboard several of the Learning Zone seminars. On our stand we were giving away Mouse Mats, Coasters , ipod/iphone/blackberry screen cleaners, and of course the obligatory Cadbury Creme Eggs!

All in all a good day was had by all. We made a few new contacts, caught up with may old and existing ones and look forward to doing it all again in 2011! 🙂

Could I firstly express how pleased we are with the Move Administer operating system, we are now coming to the 1 year milestone and cannot believe how easy this system converted from our previous package. We expected teething problems and bugs but thankfully there were very few, and the few we had were resolved promptly and efficiently.

There are many advantages of running the Move Administrator system (too many to mention) but the great advantage is how user friendly it is, all our staff use the system with great ease, and accounts are both accurate and easy to administer. We migrated from Remstar 1 (thereby avoiding Remstar 2) to Move Administer in April 2008 and currently have a 3 user system. The conversion of our data went very smoothly and we were impressed by the ease and speed with which the transition was achieved.

We have always received courteous and prompt attention with regard to requests for assistance and have found that Colin and Richard are very patient with our limited IT knowledge. It has been very effective to have the facility to request a support technician on line which allows them to control Move Administer so that they can “see” the exact problem instead of having to deal with queries over the telephone. This method is also very useful for receiving updates out of hours which avoids the need for downtime during the working day.

We are pleased that any suggestions for additional or improved features are welcomed and implemented if possible and the programme continues to evolve and improve.

We continue to receive regular contact from Administer Software Limited, unlike other companies who seem to become very distant once they have made a sale.

We have found the system to be very user friendly and would have no hesitation recommending Move Administer and the team to other Removers.

I searched for a number of years for a software program that would handle the requirements of our removals, storage and self-storage business. Before coming across Move Administer I had tested most programs in the marketplace and I was disappointed to find that they each had their limitations. I also concluded that building a bespoke software package was incredibly expensive and had its own issues with on-going support.

When Colin first showed me Move Administer I could see he had programmed most of the benefits that were found in the other systems and had also built in what for me is the fundamental difference between Move Administer and other software packages – it has a ‘query’ option which allows you to discover and manipulate the data you have created meaning that there are very few limitations to what Move Administer can do for you.

The interface is very simple and easy to use and has been structured logically so it is easy to learn. Job sheets, waybills and the – previously long-winded – storage invoice run is all done at the touch of a button. The software is constantly being updated with improvements and feedback is welcomed by Colin who tries to incorporate your needs where he can. Support is provided via phone or online and the Move Administer team seem to be there 24 hours a day!

Overall I have never looked back and I would definitely recommend Move Administer to any company looking to grow through the use of a reliable software management system.

Shipping Administer News

Move AdministerFrom December 1st 2009 Shipping Administer will be known as Shipping Administer Lite and Shipping Administer Pro. It was decided that Shipping Administer in itself was probably too big a module to purchase just to be able to produce European, International and Trade quotations, hence the split into Lite and Pro.

Shipping Administer Lite will retail for £500 + VAT with an annual support fee of £150 + VAT, with Shipping Administer Pro retailing for £1,000 + VAT with an annual support fee of £300 + VAT.

Shipping Administer Lite will allow you to create Baggage Enquiries and European, International and Trade quotations for customers.

Shipping Administer Pro will do everything that Shipping Administer Lite will do plus allow you to create European and International consignments, allowing access to produce Certificate of Shipments, Shipment Statuses, Bills of Laden, etc as well as creating Import and Export Manifests and viewing the Shipment Diary.
